Head to Boardner's in the black heart of Hollywood to start your week at Blue Mondays. Every week this ragtag event showcases a fine mix of 80s music and other genres from 1978 to 2008 - from New Order to The Cure, Madonna to Michael Jackson, Cindy Lauper to OMD, and everything in between. Step through the curtains and into the dimly lit art deco dive bar, a legendary Hollywood hangout that has been fueling the LA locals for more than seven decades. Discover two rooms of sound every week. The main room is devoted to the music of the 80s and the MTV generation, a video palace where resident DJ Bractune slams down a frothy mix of new wave, hardcore retro, dark wave, and post punk. Outside on the patio, you'll find different themed events every week: goth night, Y2K night, 90s night, industry night (every first Monday of the month), old school hip hop night and movie release parties. Chillax with low-price drink specials, and hit the upstairs loft area to play retro arcade games like Frogger, Super Mario Brothers and Ms. Pac Man. Boardner's boasts an epic location just three blocks south of Highland, make it the perfect starting point or cap off to your night in Hollywood. Cover is just $7 every week - but arrive before 10:30PM and it's only $3.
