More than a club night, Low End Theory is a community hub where forward-thinking producers and experimental music fans gather to hear the latest underground beats. The epicenter of the Los Angeles beat movement for almost a decade, this influential club night is known around the world. Every Wednesday night, music fans line up down Broadway to hear cutting edge sounds of instrumental hip hop, experimental electronica, freestyle rap, future beats and bass music in every shape, form and fashion. The beers are cheap, the visuals are trippy and the atmosphere is the exact opposite of Hollywood. Residents include Daddy Kev (legendary hip hop producer and mastermind), MC Nocando (battle rapper deluxe), D-Styles (scratch virtuoso), Nobody (demon of the underground) and the Gaslamp Killer (worldwide wild animal artist). Together, along with the fans, they create a heady blend of beats and pure music magic every Wednesday night. It all goes down at the Airliner in LA's Lincoln Heights neighborhood, just northwest of downtown. Don't expect a fancy venue – at Low End Theory, it's all about the beats and the good vibes. The Airliner is a dive bar, albeit one with an earthshaking sound system and super chill back patio for smoke breaks. Wear your sneakers. - Shilo Urban
