When the economy gets bad, going out is one of the first things to get cut, but usually people still find the funds to treat themselves to a nice night on the town every once in a while. On April 29, combine this little gift to yourself with charity and help out those in need through Project Angel Food's restaurant bill donation night. This is your excuse to really eat for two!
Dine out at participating Los Angeles restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner on Thursday, April 29, and 25% or more of your bill will be donated to Project Angel Food, which provides free delivered meals to people with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses throughout Los Angeles County. With part of your restaurant bill going to such a great cause, this is your chance to explore new restaurants and eat out for all three meals!
The current list of participating restaurants includes The Abbey, Barney's Beanery West Hollywood, BLD, BLVD 16, Buddha's Belly Santa Monica & West Hollywood, Cheebo, Gobi Mongolian BBQ, Grace, Hamburger Mary's, Il Cielo, Jar, Kitchen 24, La Vida Restaurant and Lounge, The Little Door Restaurant, The Little Next Door Cafe, Lucques, Meals by Genet, Nook Bistro, O!Burger, Off Vine, Palate, The Palm Restaurant West Hollywood, Picasso's Cafe, Porta Via, Prosecco Trattoria, Susina Bakery, Taste on Melrose, Taste at the Palisades, Tra di Noi, Upstairs 2 and Vermont Restaurant. At Il Cielo, you can blow your entire wallet on a Valentine's Day dinner for two, a five course stunner topped off with a 24-karat gold desert plate guaranteed to sweep your date off her unsuspecting feet. The Il Cielo Valentine's Day menu starts with a first course of red and white baby belgian endive tossed with candied pecans, seedless grapes and Stilton cheese in a strawberry vinagrette. Next up is the heart-shaped lobster ravioli in a white truffle bisque and cherry tomato fondue - if you've never had heart-shaped lobster ravioli, eat up because you'll most likely never have it again. You have your choice of entree of either a roasted John Dory in a chardonnay wine sauce with zucchini marmalade and grilled white asparagus with crispy artichoke, or a grilled prime beef filet on portobello mushroom, with rosemary potatoes and bordelaise sauce and crispy red bell peppers.

After you're done having the most romantic dinner of your life, relax in Il Cielo's romantic atmosphere and digest to make room for your insanely romantic desert, a heart-shaped flourless chocolate cake, covered in a belgian ganache and 24-karat gold.

You can eat your 24-karat gold for a mere $225 per couple, not including beverages, tax and tip. So if you can afford to blow the bank on a dinner, and you think your date is worth it, go for it!!
