Short Stop is a bit of an anomaly. While is is pegged as being one of the best sports bars in the Los Angeles, seeing as its only a block or two from Dodgers stadium, one would not expect to find a happening "Vegan Happy hour & Potluck" here. This, my friends, is why I love East Los Angeles. The events myspace page boasts, "Bring some vegan treats (store-bought or homemade) to share, or just come down for a drink and meet some new people. FREE pool and Drink specials from 5 - 8pm (including $2 Pabst)! And we have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks too. Doors open at 5pm. Get there early...all food must be put away by 9:30pm".
