Located on Sunset Blvd, away from the Hollywood madness, you can relax here and feel at home regardless if you're a newbie to wine tasting (I'm talking to you, everyone who learned how to taste wine by watching Sideways and/or surreptitiously watching the oldest, best dressed couple in the restaurant savor their wines), or if you are the oldest, best-dressed couple in the restaurant and you really do know your wines. City Sip is an East Los Angeles wine bar at its finest, promoting community events alongside their delicious wines and scrumptious cheese plates.

They've got a fine array of wines they present in their many happy hours and wine classes, but their food is gourmet in every sense of the word. They feature a selection of charcuterie, varieties of bruscetta, paninis and salads for the hungrier of the bunch, deserts, and to-die-for cow, goat, and sheep cheese plates - all of which include artisan breads, honey, quince, and almonds! As much as they love food, City Sip wants you to enjoy their wines as much as they do! They offer classes every two weeks on different topics, and occasionally include a beer class or two. The classes are a bit pricey - $50 per person, but well worth it and they include a free pass to look as pretentious as you want at other wine bars, because now you actually know what you're doing. They take their happy hours in the same laid-back stride as everything else at this fabulous East LA wine bar. Every Saturday, there's a wine tasting - City Sip's choice! - paired with complimentary cheese pairings, only $14 per person, and on Sunday from 9pm - 11pm all open bottles are half off by the glass!
