If you are looking to take a soulful trip around the world then make your way to Santa Monica and get lost in the groove at the Zanzibar. From rare African grooves, Brazilian soul, salsa, to classic hip-hop you will not be disappointed with the A-List DJ's that spin at this hot spot Zanzibar is just big enough to feel like a club but its true appeal lies in the lounge like atmosphere. The Bedouin-inspired decor offers comfy couches and ottomans for you to catch your breath and relax your feet after the many hours you will spend on the dance floor. While you are relaxing, indulge in a libation of two as the drinks are fairly priced and plentifully poured.
From Monday to Sunday on any day of the week you can find a musical feast to provide soulful sustenance to your mind, body, and spirit as your ears get a break from the typical top 40 playlist. For just $10, you will be swept away by the classics you have grown to love and the rare grooves you will come to appreciate. You can start off your week with a 2 hour salsa lesson on Mondays as two world champion salsa dancers teach you how to move it like a true latin lover. Every other Tuesday you can groove to the tunes of DJ Dopamine for his "Love in Da House" movement. Wednesdays play host to the Luminous Movement hosted by J Brave where you can vibe out to electronica, hip-hop, and world music. Thursdays the party only gets better as DJ Jeremy Sole of KCRW brings you some deeply rooted funk music from around the globe. Friday you will get "The Goods" brought to you by KCRW's own DJ Anthony Valadez as he is joined by legendary master of ceremonies, KG Superstar. Together, the dynamic duo bring you some a great selection of hip-hop and r&b classics. Make it a night to remember on Saturday as DJ's Haul and Mason spin simultaneously to give you a great evening of top 40 on a night they like to call "Quality". No matter what day the week you decide to go to Zanzibar you will experience quality at a different level.
