Lineup: Dream StretcherLos Angeles based electronic duo, Dream Stretcher, creates ambient yet bass-driven beats mixed with rich vocals and ethereal harmonies that bring dream pop and chillwave together in a new yet strangely familiar way. Classically-trained drummer/pianist, Clinton Van Arnam and LA singer/songwriter, Melanie deJesus, formed Dream Stretcher in the fall of 2012 only a short time after Clinton left his hometown in New Mexico for the more diverse landscape of the LA music scene. A chance meeting brought the two together after discovering a mutual affinity for a wide range of influences from Beach House, Nicolas Jaar, and Sigur Ros to more undiscovered chillwave producers such as Evenings, MMOTHS, and Balam Acab as well as classical and contemporary pianists; all of which are sources of inspiration for them as they continue to write and evolve. With Clinton’s intricate compositions and eclectic production style at the “soul” of their sound and Melanie’s reflective lyrics and alluringly familiar melodies at the “heart”, Dream Stretcher remains inspired as they work towards releasing their debut EP and developing a visually enhanced live performance.
