'Love Isn't Blind' - Where Moms Spill the Tea and Your Phone Gets Searched!
'Love Isn't Blind' is Allison Goldberg's nationally-touring comedy dating show with a feminist twist, where men can't speak but their hilarious challenges and moms do all the talking
Get ready for a hilarious and unique night out at Love Isn't Blind happening on July 18th at The Upstairs Comedy Club DTLA.
This isn't your average dating show! Created and hosted by comedian Allison Goldberg, "Love Isn't Blind" is a nationally-touring comedy/dating show with a major twist: the male suitors cannot speak. Goldberg initially came up with the idea as a feminist commentary, joking that men just talk about themselves and talk and talk and talk.
On stage, four male contestants try to win over one bachelorette (and her advisor) without uttering a word. Instead, Goldberg puts them through some wild challenges, like:
- Calling their moms live on stage (which often leads to "absurd" stories!).
- Having their phones searched and read aloud.
- Drawing their dream first date or writing limericks.
The whole event is designed to encourage human connection and matchmaking, not just for the contestants but for the audience too. Many audience members stick around after the show to chat and exchange numbers, and there have been plenty of success stories - including couples who met at shows!.
It's been a huge hit, consistently selling out venues and getting featured on shows like The Tamron Hall Show and NBC's California Live. The show kicks off at 8:30 PM and runs for about 120 minutes. If you're looking for a laugh, a fun night, or maybe even a match, this is definitely one to check out!
