Drum and bass dominates at Respect, LA's weekly club night that has showcased the genre for a decade and a half. Taking place every Thursday night at Dragonfly in Hollywood, Respect earns its title with an always-fresh roster of headliners from the US, UK and beyond. You’ll also hear up-and-coming producers and performers, including MCs that stay true to the roots of the dark, gritty sound. Along with drum and bass, you’ll encounter variations on heavy bass music, such as breaks, grime, dubstep and other mutant offspring. Respect is a cozy community night with great vibes and an underground feel. There's never a dress code, but there might be a mosh pit - so come correct. The 21+ club night is hosted by Junglist Platoon, and residents of Respect include hard hitters Machete, Scooba, Clutch, Noface, Drone, MC XYZ, Gil Konspiracy and Justin Ford. Cover is only $10, except in the case of special events, when two rooms of music are opened up. You can purchase advance tickets for priority entry online, and you’ll find $4 beers before 11PM. Elevate Lounge
811 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles

Elevate Lounge in Los Angeles is one of the best clubs I've ever been to. The view from the 21st floor is great, as it reaches over downtown L.A. Well spaced and still cozy, the atmosphere is lively but not too loud. Purple lighting that fills the club helps with Elevate's well earned style. The custom Absolut LA drink served there with lemon is one of the best had. Ever! 5 stars!
