If you could dream up the perfect place for a Cinco De Mayo celebration, the Loteria Grill in the heart of Hollywood would be that place. Right in the thick of it all, off of Hollywood Boulevard, Loteria stands out as an example of the perfect mix of modern funky decor and classic Mexican tradition. With clean white lines that make this restaurant feel as if it could be one of the latest hot spots in New York City, Loteria also caters to the offbeat and mod fan with giant over-sized tarot cards leaned up against their walls next to just the right amount of traditional Mexican flare sporadically placed throughout. There are always coolly dressed locals gathering together at the Loteria to take advantage of their full bar by snagging some tasty margaritas or their specialty Mexican brews (like the Bohemia or Cucapa Chupacabras). Of course, any Cinco De Mayo celebration wouldn't be complete without the awesome Mexican food to chase down those icy drinks. Luckily, Loteria also has that covered. They've got a menu stocked with all the best dishes that stay true to their classic roots while adding in a dash of Hollywood flavor and inventiveness. What’s even better is that they keep their pricing manageable so that you can indulge yourself and really get a taste for all that their menu has to offer. If you're looking for a fun, hip place with great grub, then look no further than Loteria.

The owner of this fine establishment started out with just a kiosk in a farmers market. Quickly seeing the potential of what he was getting started, he opened up the now famous Loteria Grill. You can still feel the influence of the classic farmers market
Loteria is located in prime spot right on Hollywood Boulevard. While this means that it is excellent for people watching and walking to other places afterwards, it makes parking a real hassle. Make sure you prepare yourself for the hunt (or pay for parking and save yourself the road rage).

Bar Sinister is the premier goth night in Los Angeles, set against a dramatic, beautiful Victorian indoor architecture, and an upstairs area reserved for a little light bondage for the more adventurous people in the crowd.
Good eats, an upscale nightlife scene, and a chill patio with an ocean view make Ocean Bar a Hermosa Beach must-go.
Culver City's retro City Tavern is just classy and old school enough to make you feel like this could have also been Thomas Jefferson's favorite pub to stumble into for a cold brew.
