Over 2,000 clubbers head to Avalon every Thursday night for TigerHeat, Hollywood's premier gay dance party. Offering a dance-inducing blend of Top 40 hits, radio-friendly tunes and pure pop madness, this 18+ club night is the biggest weekly gay event on the West Coast. Known for DJs that show the corresponding music video on huge drop-down screens while playing the song, TigerHeat also features near-naked go-go dancers of every gender, gyrating on Avalon's on raised platforms. Award-winning "DVD DJ" Ray Rhodes presides over the dance floor, along with Jason Lavitt and Howie T. You'll also find flashing lights and a VIP area for cruising the high-end, plus weekly themes and giveaways all night long: CDs, posters, concert tickets and more. Expect to encounter a shirtless crowd of underagers, 20-somethings, 30-somethings and beyond - hot-bodied party people in their underwear, with plenty of headbands and armbands. Numerous celebrities have made appearances at TigerHeat, including Britney Spears, Sir Elton John, Prince, Janet Jackson, Lil' Kim, Nelly Furtado, Ke$ha and Adam Lambert. Lady Gaga was booked there as an up-and-coming pop star in the early '00s, returning in '08 to perform the club's biggest night ever. Although the party doesn't get pumping most evenings until after midnight, the bar offers $5 wells and other drink specials if you arrive before 10:30PM. - Shilo Urban

The Avalon

The Avalon is one of those clubs that you absolutely have to go to when youre in Los Angeles. They spin all types of music, from house to hip-hop, trance to old school.

Address: 1735 Vine St
City: Hollywood

Elevate Lounge
811 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles

Elevate Lounge in Los Angeles is one of the best clubs I've ever been to. The view from the 21st floor is great, as it reaches over downtown L.A. Well spaced and still cozy, the atmosphere is lively but not too loud. Purple lighting that fills the club helps with Elevate's well earned style. The custom Absolut LA drink served there with lemon is one of the best had. Ever! 5 stars!
