For the beer aficionado, there's no better place to go than the Otheroom in Venice. Decked out with the coolest and news brews out there, this is definitely the place to go if you want to brag to your buddies about the unique beers you've been able to try out. Inside their funky brick building, you'll find everything you need to make even the snootiest of beer tasters happy.

On a coveted corner of Abbott Kinney stands a large all brick building. Over the doors, a small black sign hangs with the lowercase letters spelling out "the otheroom" displayed in yellow lighting. This nondescript entryway is prefect for the type of bar inside. The Otheroom in Venice is a no-nonsense funky place that prides itself on continuing to have the coolest and most unique brews around. Giant accordion windows open up to the street, letting the cool salt air breeze through the venue. There, patrons sip on exclusive independent beers while occasionally chatting with passersby on sidewalk. Of course, there is a central bar where people tend to congregate while trying the latest and greatest beers that the pub has to offer. But you'll also find lots of people crowding around their more intimate tables, posted up on soft grey plush stools and matching ottomans. There, people try each other's drinks and debate about the merits of each brew.

Beer Selection

The categories for beers at the Otheroom are generally placed into three slots: "Tap Beers," "Bottled Beers," and "Big Beers." If you find a beer on one of those lists that you are particularly fond though, try not to get too attached. The Otheroom is always sourcing new and underground beers to delight their pickiest patrons with, like the AleSmith Nut Brown Ale from San Deigo, or the Craftsman 1903 Prohibition Lager from Pasadena. Their seasonal drinks and limited edition beers always in flux, so it's best to check out their website (or facebook page), or even call ahead to see if your favorite is in stock. Even if they don't have what you want, their bartenders are always ready to suggest new things to try. This hipster/beach friendly bar is an excellent place to go and get a little weird with your palate this weekend.
