Retro, cool, and inconspicuous, Rock and Reilly's is the best kept secret of WeHo locals and celebrities.

Rock & Reillys Irish Pub

8911 W. Sunset Blvd.
West Hollywood, CA 90069

Rock and Reilly's is the ultimate place for getting a little bit of Hollywood charm without getting too dressed up. This Irish Pub attracts all kinds of awesome people, all looking to have a great night in one of WeHo's coolest retro chic bars. Grab yourself a whiskey and settle in to watch the game, or just the crowd that shows up.

Just as you would expect from a West Hollywood establishment, Rock and Reilly's gives your ordinary Irish Pub/Sports Bar a subtle sense of exclusivity and understated coolness. Celebrities and all sorts of interesting people have spent time hobnobbing (or throwing their friends parties) at this dimly lit little pub. Along with the delicious snootiness, the place has an old European feel to it with forest green wallpaper lines the walls. Adding to this is the dark wooden paneling and rustic sliding door entrances into the bathrooms tucked underneath their creaky staircase (which incidentally gives the bathroom ceiling a quaint slant, making you feel as though you are using Harry Potter's loo). The bar is made of wood, worn in from all the A-listers and regular locals rubbing elbows together as they order beers (they are very few on tap) or whiskey drinks (there is more than enough Jameson to go around). For those that prefer more room than you can fight for at the bar, Rock and Reilly's also has outdoor seating, and little tables scattered around which are great for chatting with friends or relaxing with your bros as you catch the game on one of their flat screens. For an even more exclusive setting, travel upstairs where you will find yourself surrounded by plush vintage couches pushed together to create intimate clusters, perfect for sharing secrets and a plate of fried potatoes. Don't worry, there are also a ton of televisions up there too, so you won't have to miss out on any of the game just because you prefer to be a little above the crowd. Usually filled with young 20 and 30-somethings dressed in casual chic outfits (think jeans with nice loafers and a button-up), this spot is ideal for hanging out with a group of your male friends (or meeting some men). Just keep your cool if Aziz Ansari or Zoey Deschanel walks in looking for a whiskey.

Tips

This is one of the few pubs in the Hollywood/West Hollywood area that actually takes reservations. Definitely take advantage of this option if you plan on going during one of their busier nights (like Thursday, Friday or Saturday). Look like a guy that totally knows what he is doing by calling ahead. That way you won’t have to fight for a spot at a good table like all the other rookies.
